My 15 Pro Max comes in November, which is in the middle of my exam period for college.

I don't have time to fiddle around with stuff like this in November, since I will be busy studying for exams and doing team projects.

Worst case scenario I will have to keep using my XS and setup my 15 Pro Max after the exams end, which is in December.

Would I be able to setup my 15 Pro Max within 10 mins?

You know that you have become an adult when you have to check your schedule just to setup your new stuff...

Only 10 mins! How do find time to eat? Do...

Jokes aside, if you skipped any data transfer/restore from a previous iPhone, iCloud, etc, you could complete setup fairly quickly. However, if you copy over apps, music, photos, contacts, etc, the process will probably require much more than 10 minutes.

wtf is this post?

If you're this anxious about it, you need a therapist - not a new phone.

And no, this isn't an "adulting" thing. Seriously.

The only way your setup can finish in under 10 min is when you have nothing on your phone, period.
Any significant amount of data will incur 30min+ waiting time. Let’s say, 10GB.

Besides, you know you DO NOT have to set up your new phone in the middle of an intense exam session, right? I don’t believe your old phone will just die right in the middle of a key moment.

I have heard that Korean society is crazy serious, competitive and high pressure. But your post is just too unbelievable.

The process will take much more than ten minutes. However if you are reasonably tech competent your actual net time doing something can usually total to about ten minutes. Most of the process is start something then let it happen (hours in my case).

Anomalies also happen sometimes, in which case all bets are off. But you will have waited until Nov so just wait another week or two after you get the new device if necessary.

My active time to do the setup is probably less than 10 minutes (iPhone to iPhone transfer). You don't have to be looking at the screen all the time while it's setting up.

Just connect both phones to charger and let it do its thing and check every few minutes if there are any prompts that require user input.

I think that the actual process of transferring your data from your existing phone to the new one is not gonna be that long. It also depends on your previous phone obviously, if you were rocking a full 1To iPhone and go 980gb to transfer it's going to take some time....
But then, what takes time are the Banking apps, and some other stuff like 2 steps verifications on other platforms. My google account had a 2 steps verification linked to a known device and that known device was my previous iPhone. So just for that it took me about 10 min on my laptop to change few things.
It's the 80/20 rule. 80% of your phone will be setup within 20min (definitely not 10), but the last 20% will take 80min.

I’ve just migrated from an SE to a 15. I followed Apple’s instructions, had everything backed up to iCloud and had the phones side by side. The vast majority is handled by the migration and took 30 mins.

After that, I went though each app. Most were fine, some needed logging back in, and my banking apps had security that required me to prove who I was and log back in.

After that it was just a matter of checking settings for new features.

The whole thing took around 2 hours I would say.

Um… you still have to eat.
And sleep.
And (I can’t believe I’m going there) use the bathroom.
All of these necessary daily aspects of life take at least the same or more time than setting up a new phone.
Seriously, just start the transfer between your old and new phone before you go to bed, and it’ll be done by the time you wake up.
Or start it during a meal, and by the time you’re finished eating, it’ll probably be done.
We’re not talking about some overly complicated space mission here.
If none of these ideas sound good, you can obviously set the phone up without transferring and without logging into anything, and you can probably blast through the set up assistant in 5 minutes, but either way you’re going to have to set up all your information at one point or another.

Not when this exam could cost my future and my college fees.
Uhh, maybe just hold off for a few days then? If these exams are that important that you can’t take more than 10 minutes away from them, your priorities need to be realigned away from the latest tech toy.

Do it while you're sitting on the can. Assuming you do - maybe you're so busy that you prefer enemas? Multitasking. Your time, like you, is so, so, precious.

This is pretty wild. I think my data transfer took about an hour and didn’t require anything from me once it started transferring.

Ya’ll need to stop gassing up this boy right now. This whole post is cap a’f. Ong frfr. 😤

With your test and college life depending on your future I wouldn’t be worrying about a new phone. I would’ve waited after test and what not to actually get the new phone.

We all get busy around here :p. Why not just do the transfer and then go to sleep, by morning it's all set up ready to use. Just sleep less for that day!

I bet that, as busy as you may be, you will find ways to waste 10 minutes (or much more) on some trivial things during that period.

If you really can’t spare the time to set up the new phone, cancel the order and buy it when you have time: you don’t want to get past the return window and find you have issues with the new device (n the other hand, you might be under the extended holiday return period by then, which usually gives until 1/8 to make a return).

I don't get this? You can't just have it running it's setup while you study? Clicking yes, Approve in between? Sign in etc? The actual time you take having to interact with the phone during setup is probably in the 10-15 min. THe rest of the time is just waiting for it to download, install, etc.
