02 in-store stock for iPhone 4s?

I'm due an upgrade (from my iphone 4) in 2 weeks - might go for the 4S - but O2's 'stock availabilty' thing has it CONSTANTLY out of stock in all the 02 stores near me - would I be able to upgrade in say, a Carphone Warehouse (assuming they have stock)

You should be able to upgrade anywhere that deals with O2 contracts. Phones 4 U should also be able to help ad well as the Apple store if you have one near by.

Can the Apple store do it? I thought they were just for outright stuff? I was in one on Saturday - though I'm not due my upgrade for 2 weeks.

Apple stores do both unlocked sim free and contract phones.
