'06 macbook with latest itunes cannot restore my iphone

“The Iphone could not be restored. The device isn't eligible for the requested build”.

this is the error i keep getting when i try to restore my iphone 4 pretty much with any ispw on my 06 macbook. of course i was trying on updating my device to ios5 and AGAIN i get the same error. everything is up to date. itunes, system updates etc. is there something im missing?

you could try to either re-install itunes, or uninstall and then re-install itunes

ok so i had to dig up this thread again because it gave me the same error trying to update to 5.0.1. Is there something the 06 macbooks have that isnt compatible with the new version restorations?
