I recently got this MBP of mine fully assembled after having it sit in a box, in pieces for about 3+ years. I bought it as a cracked screen 'project' but life + procrastination got in the way. So I finally got it back together last week. I knew that my battery would be shot, but figured I could just run it off the magsafe ps. Plugged it in, no lite at all on the magsafe. No sounds of any kind, nothing spinning or any other hints that their might be life. Left it plugged in overnite and still dead to the world. Tried a few of the reset tips from iFixit with no luck.
I didn't mess with the logic board at all really, and it did boot when I first got it. Besides getting another battery that I know has at least enough charge to run off the magsafe, I wonder how to get it to give up some clues as to what else is wrong with it. I'm trying not to put any more $$ into it after getting a new screen, and I 'd hate to go buy a battery only to find out its something else so expensive that I wouldn't be worth it for me....I'm at the point where I think I should just cut my losses, but think maybe someone out there might know something about these old core 2 duos and save my dumbass!

Thanks for any info!

note- I've already taken it apart down to the heatsinks to check if I had forgotten to hook-up something major. Everything was fine. Applied new thermal grease and put back together.
