I have an 2008 model MBP (not the unibody, one prior to that one) that has a fan problem.

I still have Applecare till October-ish, and I was wondering if taking this to the store is worth the hassle.

The problem with this is, it doesn't happen ALL the time, but happens often enough. I'm just worried I won't be able to duplicate the problem.

Thanks

I'd take it in, if for nothing else, to get it notated in case it gets worse. You have a warranty, might as well use it while you've got it.

If your computer is covered by AppleCare then I would highly recommend taking it into a Genius Bar at your local Apple Store (if one is available) or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to get the issue rectified.
