We bought an 08 time capsule, unfortunately it seems slower than our wireless modem we have... I don't think that's right though.

Two 08 Mac Pro's, which I think have the 802.11n, the time capsule should be faster and have a better range than our 3-5 year old wireless modem right?

It's about 2-3x slower and gets about 1 bar (wireless signal) down about 20 meters away in the bedroom which is pretty shocking, motorola normally is 2 or 3 (can be 1 though).

I've changed a setting in it that stops the TC from assigning IPs because I think that is what Motorola was doing, it's made no difference though.

I'm not quite sure if this is normal or what? the wireless modem is right next to the TC so it might be weakening it's signal, but I don't see why, and I'm not sure if you can turn the wireless off the modem.

Does anyone have any idea's?

Kind Regards
