OK so as I stated in the 2009 mac pro issues thread, my gt 120 is acting a wee bit strange. I'm sure it is the card and not the display, display is brand new, works fine and dandy on my mbp.
sytem info: mac pro early 2009 2.26 octad, gt120 6 gb ram blah blah (base plus wifi really, and now I'm thinkin' I should have popped the extra 215 at order time for the 4870, it's $419 CAD without student discout
[$379 with])
So the symptoms: when waking friom sleep, I will occasionally get a static like signal (like on an old tv when you're on a station with no signal). It lasts a few seconds and then vieo returns to normal. I have also created this effect while rendering in rhino via parallels (I know, bootcamp might be better but meh), this was actually the first instance, hence my immediate thought it is the video card.
Other than this irritation, the sytem seems rock solid.
I am planning on phoning apple sometime this week when I actually have time to talk to them.
In the mean time, any suggestions or ideas of alternate causes
