1,000 photo limit no more... increase

i'm at 1,019 photo's seems like Apple has lifted the 1,000 photo limit. wonder what the new limit is...

Wasnt this fixed in iOS6, as before upgrading I had 1316 photos in my camera roll?

Thought the 1k limit was on photo stream, not camera roll. Doesn't camera roll save on phone drive? In that case you could have as many till the time you have space...
