1.1.1 downgrade to 1.0.2, then unlock - Who's done it?

Hello!
I live in Canada and I'm buying an iPhone in the middle of October and I'm fairly certain it will come preloaded with 1.1.1. This means I will have to downgrade, jailbreak, activate, and then unlock.

I'm wondering who has performed this (rather exhausting-sounding) procedure already? I thought it would be nice to hear from some people who have done what I'm planning on doing...that way if there's anything I should look out for or that I shouldn't forget, they can make note of it!

Currently, if your phone has ever touched 1.1.1, it will have the v4 baseband, so it is not able to be unlocked. That is because even if you downgrade the firmware, the baseband remains at v4. The current unlocks ONLY work with v3 basebands.

I thought there was a way to reflash the baseband back to v3?
