Well, Apple has been slowly (very slowly) addressing some of the most requested features on the iPhone via updates since release.

The features haven't been coming out exactly the way we had hoped but they are coming nonetheless.

What we got so far since release:
iTunes WiFi
Ringtones
Safari more stable (it was crashing a ton in 1.0)
Fixed most camera issues (green screen)
Ability to change the SMS sound alert
Removed KEEP/DELETE option after videos
iPhone video out :D
...If i missed anything significant let me know.

What I would like to see in updates soon
• Fix new SMS lag (not everyone is experiencing this)
• Fix new safari lag (typing is slow)
• Fix clock (it's oddly off sync)
• Better Notes App that syncs with leopard :)
• Non song ringtone solution?
• Allow iTunes Edge Music store ( i think Apple may have crossed a bad path with AT&T on this option but I hope they agree to it)
• To Do list
• Safari: Option to "Open link in new window" when clicking on links
• Allow Home Button to 1. answer phone . 2. pressing multiple times calls last number dialed. The slide to unlock is a neat feature but who accidently presses the home button? let the button answer the phone pls!
• Not sure if it's on Apple or Yahoo's end but TRUE push email is a LIE. It needs to be fixed.

What I would like to see in long term future updates
• iChat non sms
• File storage and access ( for downloaded docs, pdfs etc and stuff from your Mac)
• Audio recorder

MMS - Can't believe it got left off the list. Doesn't anyone flirt this way?
Multi recipient SMS - crappy phones can do this. "hey everyone, let's meet at the bar!"

Bug fix in Safari History - When opening new windows, the parent window looses it's history function.

Bug fix - can't queue outgoing emails. ie: when sending pictures from the camera roll, you can't compose another email until the previous one has sent, so no queueing when there is no service, or slow service. bummer.

(and yes... I reported both bugs to Apple on the form)

Forgot this bug (not sure if this existed pre 1.1.1):

When iPhone is fully charged it doesn't show up in iTunes!! ?

My wish list...

MMS
Widescreen keyboard and layout in SMS, email, and notes.
Flash player
copy/paste
Custom home screen... the ability to move around icons where we want them.
real games that are not web apps.
Ability to change sounds for voicemail, calendar alerts, and emails.

I think that about does it. There is certainly more that I would take, but these are the things I really want.

I'm going to have to say...

iChat app.
flash on safari
mms messaging
copy and paste
being able to store pictures and other things on the iPhone from safari

Those are my main wishes...ajything else is just a nice added feature that I will most definatly use. :) I'm happy with my iphone the way it is.

I would also like to see some bug fixes that popped up in the latest version. SMS lag, the double home button click to bring iPod controls is very unresponcive at points.

I would also like too see more apps take advantage of the accelorometer, especially texting, as that gets hard to do while driving, whereas it would be easier with a landscape keyboard.

I would really like to to be able to sort my pictures into different folders and maybe a couple of simple adjustment options like brightness/contrast/crop

would be happy with a 3rd party app that can do this though...hint...hint :D
