i have heard that apple is releasing the 1.1.3 firmware early this week which should or will enable the 1.1.2 to be hacked, unlocked or whatever . anyone have any views , ideas as to this being correct ??

it doesn't mean a thing, in terms of the last version being jailbroken. as far as I know, 1.1.2 has already been hacked, although i have not updated mainly because the update was useless. I am hopeful for the next update, but my best guess is anothing "bug-fixing" update. Can't wait.
What's useless about an update that makes your iPhone run more smoothly and makes Safari not crash, not to mention the ability to install your own ringtones, sync to dos, etc.?
so my best bet is to wait it out until the 1.1.2 is unlocked or hacked etc so i can put it on whatever network is choose ? as i am struggling to find a 1.1.1
eventually the 1.1.2 unlocks will surface and things will be nice and peachy again. As for the 1.1.3 I'll probably wait on updating and see how the mod scene looks.
1.1.3 for me the moment it comes out - I can't be bothered by constant cat & mouse game... too lazy for that

I tend to feel the same way. I know I'll get tired of having to re-jailbreak/install 3rd pty apps & visual mods; I'm not gonna refrain from updating firmware...
