I've restored twice.. edit: Third time seems to not be lucky... edit: 4th time lucky.. anyone else having similar problems?

If you bought the actual apps for the $20, all you have to do is sync the iPod.
The file for the apps is already on your comp (or it should be) and pushing sync simply sends the apps to your iPod.

Now, if you got the iPod Touch already pre-loaded with the apps, im sorry, i cant help there.

same problem here.
1.1.2 upgraded to 1.1.3 with App Pack
1.1.4 upgrade failed several times.

can't get the App Pack back.

The "restore from the backup of" in iTunes doesn't show my previous Name...

I didn't have that file, no idea what happened to it, so I emailed apple from this address www.apple.com/support/itunes/store and they ended up refunding my purchase because the "check for purchases" was not working over my ISP (which is a uni that is why).

I suggest you all do this, because the app pack can and will disappear, causing a $21.50 something loss.

I've backed the file up, 7 times, on 7 different removable drives (just in case ;)). No way am I losing £12.66 of my hard earned cash, mysterious disappearance or no mysterious disappearance.

Me restoring to 1.1.4 has lead to

  1. The icon order going jazzy, until I synced my January Update
  2. The Mail app crashing upon launch
  3. iTunes often reports the iPod as being an 'unidentifiable iPhone'
