iPod touch 1.1.4 firmware screwup

i got this ipod from a friend and he restored it before he gave it to me it says it has the newest firmware but when using it has none of the new features. i can not repurchase it cause apple took it off itunes so what do i do.

Wait until July 11? It's only 9 days away. They say the 9.99 update will include the previous one. Not sure about that though. Apple may sell the apps in the January Upgrade separately.

It seemed that the january update will be included in the july 11 app store release, would be kinda dumb not to include them but.. im not so
