1.1.4 summerboard and any other apps you care to recommend

I just successfully jailbroke my ipod touch and am quite pleased with it so far. But now I mainly want to change the background and the icons, and was wondering if there are any good guides for this or advise. Also, there are a lot of apps, I was wondering if anyone would care to recommend a few

install summerboard 3.1-2 from installer rboot ipod after its installed that comes with a few preinstalled themes, there are also themes available via installer for appearances.

couple of good games in installer to recommend are izoo and isolitaire. I would also recomend you install community sources which is in the sources category, this will add stuff to installer to install on the touch. I would recommend customize too but I dont know if theres a fix for it to install on 1.1.4 without modifying the version number file.

I installed summerboard like you said and when I went to use it it says it is inactive, is there a easy way to fix this?

the only way I can think of involves fyping into the touch.

when you have ftp'd into the touch you need to go to:

/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

in there there will be folders and files. Highlight the files only, then chmod the files to 755 and then reboot your touch

I cant seem to FTP since i cant install the services app that it looks like i need, i get a

InstallApp

is there a way around this?

you should already be set with ssh on the touch try ftping into the touch services is not essential to ftp really other than to turn ssh on or off

well, im slowly sorting out these problems but i still need new apps but i have another question

I installed another theme but its not selectable in SB

edit:also, im looking for a way to preview themes before hand if possible

summerboard themes:

right there is an installer fix for themes

go to sources, hit edit then add, type the following: http://touchrepo.com/repo.xml click ok

when sources have refreshed go to install scroll down to tweaks (1.1.3), in there look in there for Smb Theme Fix and you will be set even with new themes installed after this

theme previews:
only way to preview themes is having a look on the net and googling the theme name and hope theres a preview.

may I inquire as to where you got your vista theme?

I cant exactly remember I googled for a vista theme once and found it on some site
