1.2 ghz 2015 or 1.1 ghz 2016

The 1.2 ghz 2015 model or the base 1.1 ghz 2016 model?

It looks like the 1.1 ghz 2016 model is slightly faster than the 1.2 ghz 2015 model: http://barefeats.com/macbook2016.html

1.1 ghz 2016 has slightly better CPU, GPU, SSD and battery.

1.2 ghz 2015 would be 100€ cheeper and has larger storage.

Which one would you buy? Am I missing something? Has Apple addressed any of the problems with the 2015 version, like the degrading battery or keyboard issues?

If you need to or want to use FileVault then SSD in the 2016 model will spank the 2015 version. I think there is a review on Ars with the benchmark.

Depends on the storage need, as performance is unlikely to be noticeably different outside of benchmarks.

As always, it will depend on your usage, because t I have a 2015 1.3 MacBook and I find it more than adequate for everything I use it for. Performance reviews show that the 2016 is faster but in real life rod performance it is hard to notice. The battery life is better on the 2016, but the storage is twice as large in the 2015. If it were my $, I'd but the 2015.

I have the 2015 1.2 512 configuration and love it. While benchmarks may put the 2016 1.1 slightly faster I doubt you are going to really notice it in day to day use. Having double the SSD space would be a determinant for me but if you don't need it I'd go with the 2016. Either way I think you'll be happy.

I considered the same, and still unsure! However if a sweet deal on a 2015 1.2 came about, I think I would bite!

I made my decision and ordered the 1.1 GHz 2016 model.

512 GB storage would've been sweet but it wasn't a deal breaker for my usage.

These processors are so close in performance (for real world applications), I would really base my purchase decisions on other parameters - price/ storage etc. If the 2016 model is still under warranty, that can be worth something to me.
