1.350€ for a 2013 15"?

I found a second hand 2013 MBP 15" with 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM and i7. In good condition.

Price = 1.350€.

Do you guys think it's crazy to buy an old 2013 laptop like that for that kind of price? Or is it a good deal?

To put in perspective, the new 2016 13" MBP without TB is 1.569€, but I can get it for 1.256€ in a week completely new with an offer.

Between those two, which would you get?

I'm not a pro. Just a student, but I would want this to be my next primary computer. Right now I'm using a late 2009 iMac 27" i5 with 4GB RAM. Very happy with it, but I want a laptop as my next primary computer.

The thing I like about the 15" is the bigger screen, obviously, to surf the web and maybe play some light games.

The new 13" on the other hand is really sexy and more easy to carry, although I won't take it out of home. With the 15" I think I wouldn't need to buy a external monitor also.

I mainly write in Word, watch YouTube, surf the web, read forums, etc.

But the price of both is really close. Only 100€ more for the 15" with more RAM and SSD and bigger screen, but from 2013 vs 2016.

Just know that the 2013 15 MBP probably does not have any leftover warranty, and should anything go wrong, it can become an unexpected costly expense to repair the MBP.

I've just bought the nTB MBP 13 2.0Ghz/16GB/512GB and I love it. The 2 things that might be a deal breaker is the lack of ports on the nTB MBP (2 x Thunderbolt 3) where one is usually used to charge it and the other thing is that the keyboard can be very polarising. As I have a desktop computer, it does not matter too much to me, but it might for you.

Do go to your local Apple Store to try out the MBP to get a better feel of them.

don't do it! Always think at the keyboard with its after-redtube-fingerprints on it... old tech, high prices, no warranty, probably full of dust inside...
I would take the 2015 13" for 1250€ (new) or save money if you need the 15"

Yeah I don't think it's a good deal either. The bigger screen, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD are the main appealing things, but it's still old tech.

I've tried the new 2016 model and I really really like it. I would love to have the 15" model but it's too expensive.

I already have a late 2009 27" iMac which works great but I'm looking for my next upgrade.

The 15" does come with one year warranty from a second hand shop. It was previously 1.500€ but now they've lowered the price to 1.350€ and I'm sure they will lower it again in the next month or so.

My youngest just sold his for half that price in UK, 2nd hand prices seem to be better/higher in US but elsewhere not so much and some places you can't give them away unless you can find a western expat
