Hi!

I'm trying to find any benchmarks or comparisons between the 1,4 GHz and 1,7 GHz versions of the 2014 11" MacBook Air — but I'm having trouble finding any.

Usually the CPU upgrades haven't really been worth the price difference. But as I'm comparing the 11" MBA against the 13" MBPr, I'm afraid that the 1,4 GHz MBA will be on the slow side. I very much value the smallness of the 11" MBA, and the 13" MBA is so close in size and weight to the MBPr that I'd rather chose the MBPr.

The 1,4 GHz seems to come pretty close to my early 2011 13" MBP (i5-2415M) which I think is a bit slow with Lightroom 5 and my 5D Mark II files sometimes. (I use an SSD for the system disk)

Does anybody have benchmark scores for both or any of them 2014 11" MBAs?

Here's a couple processor benchmarks for the units you listed:
Your 2011 MBP (i5-2415m) ----- 3225
2014 MBA (i5-4260u) ----- 3688
2014 MBA (i7-4650u) ----- 4232
Late 2013 rMBP (i5-4258u) ----- 4174

As you can see, the bump from your current to the base i5 MBA isn't that bad. If you're using it for Lightroom (photography-minded?) then I'd suggest the rMBP. With the 11" Air you won't have an SD card that may be handy for such work and with the Airs you won't have the retina screen which can also be of use for photography work.

for photography sd slot and retina is a must!
