as long as it's 12.5mm or thinner, it *should* fit, although 9mm is all that's officially supported.

afaik, drives above 1tb in 2.5" form factor are enterprise drives that probably arent compatible due to being SAS and not SATA... but i'm likely not up to date with current platter tech.

Dunno what the dimensions are for the 1.5TB drive. Hell I'm waiting for a 12.5mm 2TB Drive. Then I'll be giggling uncontrollably.

whats the difference between the 12.5mm and 9mm hard drives? will they both fit in the macbook pros?

I'm using a 1TB 12.5mm internal drive and a 48GB ExpressCard SSD.

Use expresscard for boot and apps.

Yeah you don't want your mum to plug in that external drive and find all your "media" ;)

be pretty hard since im 24 and dont live at home but ok...

no i have a 200gb itunes library compiled of tv shows/movies and music along with apps.

not to mention ripped dvds i have through handbrake and video editing projects or the images i edit in photoshop all of this stuff eats up space and since my macbook pro is my primary machine i keep most of my media on my WD 1tb external drive.

how well does the 1tb drive fit? i dont want it to cause an issue trying to squeeze one in. does the 12.5mm drive require you to break the plastic tab that holds the drive in?

Alrightie just replace the word "mum" with "girlfriend".

Nah just hide it in a maze of folders with boring technical names like "bin.plst" and other load-of-crap names you can make up that no one will bother trawling through ;)

"Wonder what they mean by "media"?"
