1.8 GHz Power Mac for a Server?

In an effort to conserve a bit of cash and have a server now could we utilize the 1.8 GHz Power Mac with 1 GB of RAM I use as a desktop for a server. Most of the work on the server will be a large File Maker Pro database. I will then order a new Mac Pro to replace it. Does anyone use something similar as a server?

Thank you very much for your opinion or ideas.
