Is there a way to have 1 monitor in a pair of two as the main monitor where all the apps open up?
I have a setup where my second monitor is my TV which is hooked up on an wall that's behind me and only use it for movies. I just hate when sometimes apps open up on the tv behind me and I have to turn around to find things and drag it back to my main screen or even worse, the tv is off and sometimes i wonder where the hell something is.

Everything should open on the primary monitor, the one with the top toolbar and dock. If this doesn't happen, it's something you've dragged on the second monitor.

I think that the app windows will open up in the same position they were in when you quit the app. If you drag all the windows back to the main screen and then quit from there, they should open up there by default next time.

I assume your dock and menubars are on the monitor, not the TV?

Yup

or is there an app that can show on my main screen that kinda pops up and flags me that there is something on the second monitor that is open?
