1 monitor(with usb), 1 key, 1 mouse, MPD+PC

Just got macbook pro. Still a Windows guy for now.

I want to get a 24" monitor with usb inputs. I don't want a KVM switch. Has anyone shared a usb keyboard/mouse with a MAC and Windows?

I'm envisioning using the input button on monitor to switch video, permanently connecting keyboard/mouse to usb inputs on monitor.

One usb cable connected to monitor and switch other end of cable to/from windows box or macbook pro.

I think "logictech wave" keyboard/mouse combo is compatible with both windows and mac. I'm sure there are others.

Will this work seemlessly? Has anyone done this? Are there other options?
