1 New in Apple Menu

When I click the Apple logo in the upper left hand corner it says "App Store... 1 New".

When I click the 1 New it launches the App store app but there is nothing there to download.
Matter of fact it actually says "No Updates Available".

Is there a way to get that "1 New" out of the Apple menu?

Fixed!
Just a matter of restarting the laptop.
Love those simple fixes.
