1Password is an independent program, so yes. It works with those browsers through extensions from the main program, if that makes sense.

1 Password is a separate app that can be accessed from both Safari and FireFox. You can import passwords saved in both Safari and Firefox to 1Password, then do a little clean up to remove any duplicates and then just use 1 Password from either browser for your logins.
