Does anybody know why current 1 TB drives continue to get more expensive?
I checked the following 3 drives and only the price of the Hitachi seems to fall slowly:
1. Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 1000GB, SATA II (HDS721010CLA332)
- price seems to be stable since mid november 2009. Lowest price today: 67,- Euro.
2. Western Digital Caviar Black 1000GB, SATA II (WD1001FALS)
- lowest price was 74,- Euro around october 2009. Lowest price today: 81,- Euro.
3. Samsung SpinPoint F3 1000GB, SATA II (HD103SJ)
- lowest price was 59,- Euro back in october 2009. Lowest price today: 69,- Euro.
I know that the WD drive is highly recommended by a lot of people in this forum but is it really worth this premium price?
I'll upgrade the 250 GB Seagate hd in my good ol' late 2006 iMac with one of the drives listed above.
