1 unread message stuck on dock1

Hi all,

I have been having issues with my iMessage badge notification off and on. Twice now, I've gotten an "unread message" badge that gets stuck! I have read the message on my phone and macbook but the 1 badge won't go away.

I have tried deleting the conversation before but that doesn't make it go away.

First world problem, I know, but it's annoying as heck!

My macbook is up to date.

Any suggestions?

Oddly, it just went way!!!!

But I would like to know how to fix it in future.

Might have been a network issue. I notice in your screenshot that your status is set to offline.

Maybe it needs to confirm with the server that the message has been read by you.

Remove it from the dock!

You can go to terminal and type
killall Dock

didn't work for me though.
