Hi everyone, first time post here.
It appears that OS X 10.10.3 is rendering a fake dead/white pixel on my 2012 rMBP's screen (top right) when it using an external 24" 1080p monitor as a dual display. I started noticing this issue only after I updated to 10.10.3.
By describing this as a fake pixel, what I am seeing is if I pinch outward on the trackpad to show Desktop, I see the pixel fly to the top right with all of the other windows (see attachment). If I swipe left to move to another Space, the pixel moves too but resets itself in the top right of the next Space.
I switched out the HDMI cables, and also tried a mini display port to HDMI dongle with the same results. Via HDMI again, I tried a 21" monitor with the same results.
Interestingly enough, I put a 2010 27" iMac into target display mode, using it as a secondary monitor - and no dead pixel! This was via a mini display port cable.
Based off the symptoms, I had the feeling it is a software issue. I hope it's not pertaining to hardware. Any thoughts or possible solutions?
Best,
RJC
