Hey, everyone. This is my first post on MacRumors. I just downloaded the 10.11.2 update on my late 2011 MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, now the computer recognizes the built-in 13" display with 512 MB of VRAM as a 21" display with 3 MB instead.

Specific symptoms:

1) Can't change screen brightness
2) Video is choppy
3) Screen flickers and is washed out and "milky"
4) Mirroring options menu has "Use as Separate Display" checked and cannot be unchecked
5) Mirroring options menu now includes "Open Projector Calibrator", which makes me think the computer thinks it's a projector now
6) Mini DisplayPort does not transmit signal to HDTV via Mini DisplayPort/HDMI cable
7) Display does not go to sleep when closing lid, nor when clicking "Sleep" from the Apple menu
8) In the time it took to type this, the power went from 98% to 80%

I've tried resetting PRAM and SMC and plugging into a TV with no changes for better or worse.

Thanks for any help provided.

Crucial 256 GB SSD
