I have a 2018 Mini - 3.2ghz i7

I upgraded today to 10.15.2 and the fans are definitely more active even when doing mundane stuff like web browsing using Safari and other basic stuff.

Anyone else notice this?

Check what's going on in activity monitor. Sounds like a process running off at 100% on a core.

I’ll have a look but what would be doing this given that no main programs are running? Definitely different from before it was updated

A number of system background processes could do that, lke mdworker. A Safari adblocker extension could be going nuts. Or you could actually have installed Macfanscontrol and forgot about it…

It is good idea to always have intel power gadget and activity monitor open to catch those sort of things.
