Today I noticed that now, as of the release of 10.15.6, my Macs are suddenly a lot more aggressive about their maximum turbo boost frequency than they ever have been. My late 2013 MBP is regularly boosting to 3.8 GHz single core (the published maximum single core turbo), while previously I've never seen it go above 3.4 GHz.
Same with an old Mac mini at work - previously, when it would only run at maximum 2.9 GHz, upon upgrading to 10.15.6 it now regularly hits the published maximum single core turbo, 3.3 Ghz.
This is great! Although I'm not sure about the practical impact on performance - both machines have recently been retired from their main duties.
Al CPU frequencies are measured using Intel Power Gadget.
