Hi everyone,

I have recently obtained a iMac G4 (1.25 GHz 768 MB ram).
I replaced the harddrive with a 400 GB drive from an old external drive, and I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB. Running Leopard feels much snappier now.

However, one thing bugs me. After waking it from sleep, it beachballs for 10-15 sec and it is completely unresponsive. Then it's fine. No special sound is made during this period.

Does anyone have any idea on the source of this problem?

Thanks

I would imagine that the Mac is waiting for some information from the hard drive, so it has to wait for it too spin up. Unfortunately I don't know how you could fix this.
