I upgraded to 10.2.8 from 10.2.7 last night on my 17" PowerBook (the original 1 GHz version). When I started up Mail this morning, the icon bounced a couple of times on the dock, and then just stopped without launching. (The log output is below.)
I restarted a couple of times and even reinstalled the upgrade, but the Mail problem persisted. I logged in as another user in case my mail files were corrupted, but that didn't help either.
The solution was to download and install the "Combo" upgrade, which upgrades all the way from 10.2 to 10.2.8. This solved the problem.
