10.3.2 can't recognize CDs it burns?

I recently had to burn some files for a deadline job, and after being burned, the disk disappeared from the desktop and Finder.

I put them in my Lombard, and they read fine, but nothing would get them to show up on my PowerBook combo drive or external DVD-R drive.

Anyone else having this annoyance?
