I installed Panther on my Bondi Blue iMac a few months ago. I left it alone for a few months to let it discharge (it suffers from GLOD).
I used my MacWireless USB Adapter and hooked up to my neighbor's Linksys router today (they don't know about it
I would've connected to my G4 iMac with its Airport card, but it's not quite working properly). I downloaded all of the updates I needed. iPhoto, iCal, iTunes, iChat, and a few others and, of course, 10.3.5 Combo Update. So I went ahead and downloaded and installed everything. I rebooted, and I got the gray screen with the black Apple logo. I waited for it to boot up... and waited... and waited... and waited... for about 20 minutes. I then turned it off, ate lunch, came back, and let it reboot. I left it on for another 30 minutes this time and nothing...
I booted off the Panther disc and verified and repaired permissions then verified the disk (but not repair it because it was okay). I then re-booted into 10.3.5 and left it one for 40 minutes. Nothing.
What's wrong?!
I'm ready to leave it on for an hour or so later tonight and hope it fixes itself, unless there is a better way to deal with this.
