Has anyone installed the 10.4.8 delta package via the command line "installer" tool as referenced in Article:304511, "Mac OS X 10.4.8: Mac Pro - kernel panic at startup after installing on a RAID volume"?
I have a 2.66 Mac Pro with 2x WD Raptor 150GB as a boot drive in RAID 0, but I'm getting kernel panics upon reboot after the 10.4.8 installation via the GUI Software Update utlity. Best solution for me is using this "installer" tool referenced, but the steps as provided in Article:107058, "Mac OS X Server: How to remotely install software using the Software Update command-line tool" appear to indicate the installer tool retrieving the available updates from the web as opposed to installing an already downloaded .dmg package on a local machine.
If anyone could provide the exact steps or clarify the ones detailed in the note such that I can get 10.4.8 applied it would be most appreciated.
