Since the update, I've noticed that my CPU is being thrashed more by two processes:

WindowServer
mds

these are belting 40 to 60 % of the CPU almost all the time. I can kill the processes off, and everything still works okay, but the processes just come back again.

MBP is running hotter, more often... no idea wtf is going on.

Sorry to hear your problems. But nothing so far on mine. Running 95 to 98% Idle with QS and Safari and SMC Running. Temps bouncing between 125 and 145F. Also I have SMC set for default 1000RPM. So I do not have that kicked up. Maybe something in your Login is running two of same apps. Have you tried creating a new user and logging into that clean user. Might give a clue as to what is causing the problems! Hope you correct this!!

Might be spotlight

I think 10.4.9 mine did the same thing, then when it completed re-indexing everything for spotlight it went back to normal. Hopefully it should just go away if you let it run its course.
