10.4: ?CHM reader that searches and doesn't lollypop out?

Hello,

I've been trying to find the absolute best CHM reader and that there is no good solution:

CHMOX is lightweight and looks great - big problem, no search.
Chamonix 1.1a doesn't seem to work for me on 10.4.11 - the file comes out as a ton of symbols

xCHM1.13 has a search feature! BUT IT IS SO SLOW - lollypop every time I scroll.

Is there a better CHM solution for Tiger???

now I found a CHM that xCHM will not open display, but both CHMox and Chamonix do (yet neither search). Sigh...
