Hi all. Like other threads I've seen on this board, I can't get Tiger to install on my Rev 1 B&W G3.

Specs:
300MHz, 1 GB RAM, brand new 120GB Seagate drive as master
Firmware is up to date
Was running 10.3 on old master drive
Prams are zapped
Pioneer DVD drive installed and confirmed to work

Problem:
The G3 will boot from the DVD however after I select English as the primary language, a drop-down alert simply notifies me that "This software cannot be installed on this computer". I've read of many people installing Tiger on their Blue and Whites (with various problems encountered) but have not seen this particular issue cited.

Any suggestions?

First question: Where did you buy your copy of OS X from, and is it the 10.4 disc or the new 10.4.3 OS disc that is being sold these days by apple?

ummmm, I've installed RETAIL versions of 10.4, along with EVERY other version of OS X back to 10.0, on my B&W notta problemo, ever!

If your Tiger disc is NOT a retail-boxed version, it wont work on a B&W, regardless of what you do or dont do........

is it the 10.4 disc or the new 10.4.3 OS disc that is being sold these days by apple?

dont matter, either one will work if the proper version :)
