I noticed a good 30 minute reduction in battery life after the 10.5.1 update. I range from 3:30-4:08. Prior to the update I averaged 4:18-4:40.

Any one else seen similar behavior?

I used to get a solid 4:15 on my MBP with brightness at 50%, bluetooth off, wifi on and "better battery life" set doing surfing/email type tasks. Anything more cpu intensive than that cut it down dramatically. Vmware running knocks me down to 2 hours.

I get about 3:50-4:00 with wifi on while taking notes in class, light internet browsing, about 60-70% brightness, and bluetooth on but not actively being used (always forget to turn it off). This is on a 15.4" Santa Rose MBP (2.2ghz).

This is with 10.5.1. That's about the same I was getting before... I think.

I noticed that the fixed the Wi-Fi problems i was having to maybe they are running the airport at a higher power level which uses more power?

I would guess that 10.5.1 is just more realistic, as I've never seen a MBP get almost 5 hours of battery life

With a brand new battery, the 17" MBPs can get 5 hours when used for light tasks. When I used to travel a lot, my 6 hour flights across the country would use 1 battery for 90% of the flight, and I had a 2nd battery if I wanted to keep going.
