I have a test clip in HD (720p) 100mb...I use it to test different settings in visualhub....

now with 10.5.1, it took exactly 2:12 to encode this clip
10.5.2, same clip takes 1:45!!!!!!!!!!!

H.264 encoding check
Go nuts check
Two pass check
Best possible check

amazing eh?

sweet, but I'm guessing it had more to do with the other things you were running in the background.

nope there was nothing running in the background...I always close everything before I benchmark....

it really is faster.....

possibly the graphics update has helped? Not sure if visualhub offloads any encoding off to the GPU though?

Does 10.5.2 include the SSE4 instructions that we've been waiting for? Although that wouldn't affect VisualHub unless they've released an update for it very recently.

The process takes FOREVER on my 2.33gHz! 10% decrease means 2.5 hours per movie...
