10.5.5 screwed up my external display

so I run the updtate last night and shut down my macbook before bed. woke up today and like usual started up my macbook and turned my HDTV on, which I use as an external monitor, and the screen is fuzzy and illegible? WTF? I thought apple was better than microsoft? Updates breaking our computers? this is so frustrating.

I turned it on and off a few times and its still fuzzy. never had this problem.

Sounds like the resolution settings have changed.. Can you check that they are still 1920x1080 (or whatever they were)

The update might have reset the settings..

well, ok that got rid of the fuzziness, so it is now legible, but it is not the correct resolution for the screen. I changed it to 1920x1080 (interlaced)

nevermind, fixed it now by switching to 1280x720. thanks!
