10.5.5 validation problem

10.5.5 is giving me some grief. I downloaded it and when I restart it says that the installer cannot validate the software and I either get a white screen or it restarts in 10.5.4. When I go to software update it gives me the restart option immediately and does the same again.

I have fixed disk permissions and run a diagnostic on Drive Genius 2 (which says the disk is OK).

Any idea of a fix? Where can I wipe the download from my hard drive and maybe do it again in a week or so?

Not happy. :eek:
