10.5.6... Mail.app..widemail

anyone else mail app start to hang for 15-20 secs after receiving a new email after the 10.5.6 upgrade.. specifically if you have widemail installed..

i know its pretty specific but maybe its not just the widemail plugin...

Mine was doing that before the 10.5.6 update, in fact way back since I installed it. I just wrote it off as a side effect of having 30000+ emails.

My email hung this morning after updating to 10.5.6. When I say "hung", I mean that the request to retrieve email timed out. I had to leave for work and didn't get a chance to look at it. However, I have my wife's email on the same iMac and hers didn't hang. Same provider too.

Mail.app here has been utterly screwed. I had several plugins installed, Widemail included, I have had to trash prefs and the Mail folder completely and start from scratch. Not happy.

I have rebuilt Mail from scratch and reinstalled Widemail because I couldn't live without it, no problems so far.

Have also installed SpamSieve and Mail Appetizer.

Fingers crossed but looks like these 3 plugins are off the hook.

mail appetizer? whats that do?

my mail seems a bit more stable after a restart or two.
