10.5.7 freed around 30GB on my time machine back-up

Did they make the back-up process more efficient with this latest build?

My external drive previously had about 140GB of time machine back-ups on it and now when I look it at today im down to 110GB.

Anybody else notice this?

Or was this an announced feature which I completely missed?!
