10.5.7 Kills Four Finger Swipe in Rev A?

go into sys pref click keyboard mouse and enable all of it again

Update: I found the 10.5.6 file again, and had to move it from within bash even after changing the permissions of the original and modified files. Other than that modifying the file was just like it was last time.

I poked around the settings for a minute and did not see the advanced gestures options like I did previously. Maybe I just had to restart. It sounds like both the hard way and the easy/better way (yours) work, so all is well. As usual, I embarked on the hard way... Thanks!

Killed mine too, but I just replaced the file with the mod file and it fixed it. DAMN you Apple!

Why is this surprising?

Vendors don't support modified configurations -- if you patch a driver or mess with an otherwise-stock portion of your config, it shouldn't come as a shock when a patch overwrites your modification.

Well seeing as it originally didn't have it, Apple probably just overwrote it. Don't complain because it's a "hack" of sorts and OS incremental updates usually overwrite this kinda of stuff.

I was upset because they left out functionality because it was "not possible, a totally new trackpad design". Since that was obviously untrue, I feel they should have made it an option in a new point install. It just seems a little silly to deny users software improvements. They seem to be implementing fingerworks multitouch at a snail's pace already, and they should be supporting as many gestures for as many people as possible to get them used to and expecting the language. Not having it is an annoyance, not something that would honestly get people to upgrade after a few months. Currently, the touchpad is the only laptop feature that Apple has where others are simply not competitive.
