10.5.8 finder loop crash

A colleague presented a 13" mac book going out of control!!!

Basically loads of finder windows were opening in rapid fire on a recurring loop.

Thinking I'd boot up the laptop of mind using target disk I was tripped up at the first hurdle on account the MacBook didn't have a FireWire port!!

After holding down apple alt esc the loop stopped and I managed to get a crash report.

I believe the laptop is temporarily fixed and would like to offer a more permanent solution, I've uploaded a crash report PDF if anyone could take a look for me and offer some help.

The crash log indicates that Finder is repeatedly spawning threads to handle the open window requests, but that nothing else unusual is happening. That being the case, I suspect stuck keys as the cause. With the laptop OFF, press and release each key on the built-in keyboard once. Do any keys not return to their starting position when you do this? If so, those are your troublemakers.
