Hello everybody,

I have been having a lot of issues on my iMac (10.5.8) recently, I think it all began when it decided to re-index the hard drive. Since that day, I've had the following problems :

- Time Machine won't backup anymore. It says "preparing" for about 5 seconds then stops.
My threads on apple.com --> https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7325081 and https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7321604

- I can't unlock the padlocks in Keychain and in System Preferences. When I click on then, it says "authenticating" when it goes back to "click to unlock". Because the computer has stopped asking for my admin password when I do admin tasks, I can't install or delete programs either.
My thread on Apple.com --> https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7358853

- The Trash won't empty. If I empty it with 1 file, it's ok, but as soon as there is a folder (even if that folder has just 2 mini files in it), nothing happens. When I click on the trash again, it says "can't be opened because it's being emptied". It lasts hours and I therefore can't delete or copy files unless I Relaunch Finder.

About TM, I've tried a lot of things, I've even bought a new HD, because I thought the problem came form my old one. But no avail.

About the admin privileges, I've tried a lot of things, from deleting that .plist file everybody is talking about, to rebooting in solo mode and entering lines of codes. Nothing has changed.

I know it's an old OS and a lot of people will suggest to update it, but right now I do not have any back up of it as TM has stopped working. Plus, I know everything will run super slow if I update, and I'd lose some of my licenses.

Last but not least, I do not have the Leopard installation DVD anymore.

Thank you for your help.
