10.5.8 snow leopard refuses to sleep

I have mac os 10.5.8 leopard installed on my powermac firewire 800 . When i try to put the computer to sleep it dims the monitor and powers down for 1 milisecond and then powers back up.

Try turning filesharing off.

Sorry unable to help with any great incite, but Snow Leopard was 10.6.8 wasn't it. I would run Apple Hardware test, reset the PMC and PRAM and see if that helps

My 24" Late 2006 iMac refuses to sleep in 10.8.5 (only the display turns off) and I haven't been able to figure out why, I'll have to try this. Thanks.

My mistake I meant Leopard you are right .
Also I already tried disabling file sharing and the terminal trick but none worked

Nevermind I found the problem .It was my usb keyboard that prevented my mac to enter sleep mode.
