I seem to recall after one of the 10.5.x updates some here were complaining that the update lowered performance on there 8600GT--most likely in an effort to keep them from failing. Because of that and some other driver related issues I've stayed on 10.5.3 for the time being.
Now that Apple is replacing failed parts and 10.5.6 has been released I was thinking/hoping that maybe they might have fixed any underclocking they did on a previous update.
Has anyone done any tests comparing 8600GT performance across the different updates? Seen it get better at all or just worse? If not, anyone at least remember which update was supposed to underclock it incase I have some time in a few weeks to do some testing of my own?
