Just noticed this. I apologize if this is a duplicate thread - i couldn't find it discussed.

I generally keep my MBP muted, and plug in headphones when necessary. Up until 10.6.2, the MBP kept track of separate sound volumes, so whenever I plugged in the headphones I got sound, and whenever I removed them the internal speakers were muted.

Alternatively, if I had my internal speakers set to a high volume, plugging in the headphones mutes them, sets the headphone volume to whatever I last set it to, and when I remove the headphones, the speakers go back to the high volume.

Now, however, whenever I remove the headphones from the jack, my speaker volume is set to whatever my headphone volume was set to. Just started happening after the 10.6.2 update.

Anyone else see the same thing, or have any suggestions?

Gonna gravedig this. I get it too. Seems like I wasn't the only one. I too noticed this happened after getting 10.6.2 as well.

Anyone find a workaround/solution?
