Hi,

I posted over in the MBA forum but thought I'd probably get more responses here...

Thread is https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/919733/

Gist of it...

MBA 1,1 SSD running 10.6.3, all of a sudden in the last 2 days shutdown very slow - closes finder etc then hangs with wallpaper showing for 45-50 seconds - nerver used to happen, could go from pressing power button to off in less than 10 seconds...

Only items at startup are Growlhelper, Evernote helper, Dropbox and magicprefs, but these have been in for sometime...

Anyone got any ideas?

TIA

Phil

Run some maintenance on your Mac. Download either Yasu or Onyx and run all the cleaning routines. Let then program rebbot your Mac. Upon the reboot immediately manually reboot again to completely rebuild your startup/shutdown cache. Doing this regular maintenance once about every 4 months should keep OS X humming along almost like new.

Hopefully this will fix the problem, barring any hardware problems.
